MIKE GEOGHEGAN

Personal Mission: To create a world of love and compassion by honoring the strength within myself and the gold in others.

Action in the World: Mike Geoghegan has lived his mission outside MKP of KY by demonstrating his strength of leadership and service to humanity by his participation with the Charles L. Shedd Kentucky Association. This Association provides educational remediation for people with ADD and ADHD. Mike served on the Shedd executive board for three years, was president elect for one year and president for three years during which time he raised $850K for the association. He has also served as director of a parent tutoring program for students for seven years followed by serving as Financial Chair and Treasurer of the Association for nine year. During Mike's some 22 years of volunteer service with Shedd, - no board member is compensated for their work - he has truly shown his gold to this community and worked diligently to polish the gold of the parent and students he has worked with and for.

As a Chief Master Sergeant with the Kentucky Air National Guard Medical Squadron, Mike once again showed his leadership skills and bravery in 19991 by serving in Operation Desert Storm.

Since 2003, Mike and his wife, Mollie, have taken on leadership roles in the Retrouvaille Program. This is a program for couples with marital challenges. Mike and Mollie have served as a support couple in the Louisville Chapter group of CORE - Continuing Our Retrouvaille Experience. They have participated as delegates to the Program's international conference and are currently facilitating weekends held every third Sunday of the month.

For three years Mike also served on his church's parish council and assisted in a two million capital campaign.

If you ask Mike, he will tell you that all of this is about service to the community and giving back so as to create a world of love and compassion. That's Mike's mission in MKP as well as in his life and he lives it to the fullest in both worlds.
